Made it Through the Storm!

Just wanted to let everyone know we made it through the Storm again! We woke up Monday morning to the most amazing Lightening Show ever. We got up and turned on the TV..it was 3:30 in the morning too. A tornado was on our side of town but turned a few minutes before getting to Pleasant Grove. It did hit in Oak Grove and killed and 81 year old man. Then another Tornado hit in Centerpoint where my in laws live. We called them about 4:00 in the morning to make sure they were ok..and Thank God they were. But Centerpoint is just devasated. One young 16year old died from that Tornado. My goodness when will it stop? The weather men are now saying that we should buy Bike Helmets to wear when there is a Tornado warning....which I think is a great idea. They say a lot of these people that die...die from head injuries.

The Good Lord protected me and my family again. We are so Thankful!

Marley Got Mail!

My Marley got mail yesterday from his Best Buddy Mandu. I told him this mail was for him and he couldn't wait for mommy to open it.He got 4 different flavors of cat treats and some pipe cleaners that Cat Mandu's mom made for him. Of course he did share with his brother and sisters...hes always trying to get in good with Sister Babybella who he just loves so much. Poor Marley..she won't give him the time of day though. Not even treats and toys will sway her!

Grandkitty Bunny

Just wanted to let everyone know that our little old lady Bunny is doing so good on the Sub Fluids.

She is back to her Frisky old self and her kidney tests are stable for right now.

My daughter Somer and I want to thank everyone for the Purrs and Prayers. We know that is one of the reason this little girl is still around to enjoy her old age. The other reason is the great care that Somer is giving Bunny. She is a great caretaker!

Update on Bunny

Bunny's heart tests came back good..so doctor is starting Bunny on Sub.Fluids everyday for 6 weeks then they will do more test to see how she is doing. Somer may be able to give the Fluids less often if test come back good.

In the mean time Bunny is acting pretty normal. Of course she does hate being held for 3minutes while they give her the fluids. She is being her little feisty self.

Grandkitty Bunny in Need of Purrs and Prayers

Bunny my daughter's kitty since she was about 13 or 14 years old is 18years old and was diagnosed with Kidney Disease yesterday. She also has something going on with her Heart too. We should find out in a couple of days what course of action as far as treatment goes.

Im asking all my Blogger Friends to please send Purrs and Prayers her way. Please pray for my daughter Somer too. This is really hard on her..this is her baby girl.

Sorry I have no happy news right now. Sunday my stray cat got hit by a car and died...now this. When it rains it pours!!

From me and Somer...Thank you all so much. The vet said that they did catch it early so she should have a few months left. But of course we will hope for more.

Me and the kitties got up very early today and they had some fun with a moth in the sunroom. They were all excited and talking to me about the moth.

Hey Everyone! Update on Dora.. New medicine seems to be helping. My sister who worked in a vets office for a while told me to also put citrus juice on her tail once a day. You guys her little tail is so pitiful. I really hope this stuff works. I don't know what I'll do if it gets worse. Lets all keep our fingers crossed. Thank you all for your support. Hey everybody! I need help. My vet told me that Dora has litter tail. I didn't ask any questions because this did not sound serious. She just told me to put monistat 7 on kitten's tail twice a day which I have been doing. Her tail is not getting well and the hair is coming off of her tail.

Does anyone know what this is? Im hoping that it is not ringworm. I've now separated her from my cats.

Jude got to go out in backyard and explore. He loves for me to take him out.
As you can see in couple of the pics Marley was not so sure. My Fearless Marley is a little chicken. I guess its a good thing though cause he loves to jump up high and the little chicken might just jump the fence. I don't trust him. I don't think I will try that again with him.

This is Clarkie my 96yr. old neighbor's cat. Ms. Brody goes to my church and she is a very sweet lady...she doesn't mind that Clarkie likes to come to our house.

Chuck and I just love Clarkie. He is extended family.

Today I thought I would show you guys how destructive my Marley is. Marley is the first cat I've ever had to tear up his toys and whatever else he can get away with.
He has managed to tear up our wallpaper in our personal bath. We are gonna wait till he is a little older before we rewallpaper our bath. I just don't trust him to not tear up new wallpaper.
Thank goodness he has not bothered the Main Bath that people use when we have get togethers.

Beloved Boo Boo - Great Pal and Buddy

You guys have heard me talk about my friends in Gulf Shores..J.B. and Carmine. Well BooBoo was one of their 5 dogs.

Well sadly..J.B. and Carmine had to help BooBoo to the Rainbow Bridge this past Saturday. They were with their Furbaby up until the end. As you all know this is one of the hardest things for us to do with our sweet furbabies. Please keep them in your Thoughts and Prayers..this is really a hard time right now for them.

Pretty Piper

Piper is now 4 yrs. old. I adopted Piper from a shelter that is about 2hrs. out of town. I found her on the Internet. She was about 6 weeks old when I adopted her. From the time I brought her home..you would have thought she was a Feral kitty. She would hide all the time hardly ever coming out. When ever we would try to pet her she would act scared and pull away from you. The only time she would let anyone love on her was when Chuck went out to the sun room to smoke and she would let him pet her with his foot. She loves for Chuck to pet her with his foot.

Well the other day when the Tornado hit she was just very,very scared. I've never seen a cat cry and act the way she was acting. It was pitiful. It was all me and Chuck could do to calm her down.

Its a miracle!! Now she lets me pet her and she will even roll over on her back to let me rub her tummy. She is like a different kitty.

She is still a little traumatized. When ever I go to leave the house and she hears my keys rattle she gets really upset and I have to stop what I'm doing to comfort her and reassure her that I will be back.

I never thought I'd be able to pet Piper and show her affection like Im able to do with the other kitties. Life is crazy! You just never know!

Saturday - Today

Not much going on today. People are trying to find their animals and people are trying to put their life back together.

Last nite we went to our church to see how much damage was to it. Oh! To my surprise I did not expect to see what I was about to see.
Just blocks and blocks of absolute devastation. You could not even recognize where you were.
Everything just looked so different. It was very sad. It was hard to look at.

Today emergency responders came by the house to see if we needed water,ice,snackers.
I thought that was so nice. The communtity came together. In about a week I will post some pictures. Out of respect for the people who lost their homes we did not take pictures. There's always time for that.

Thank you everyone for the prayers. A Big Tree in our backyard is all the damage we have..that was my biggest worry before the storm. I didn't think my life would be in danger. because that Tornado came real close to our home. We have a lot to be thankful for and tomorrow our damaged church is going to hold a service. We can give back thanks to the lord. He spared me and my husband and my furbabies.

Woke up this morning again to the sound of a kitty crying. I knew if was Foggie so put food out for this precious boy. Not much happened today. People were a little more calm down. Just a lot of people and churchs trying to get food to people.
Even the Auburn football team gave out free food.

There are good people in Alabama. But there is also the bad (Looters). Because there are so many people missing and so much looting we can not leave the city.
My husband is able to come and go because he works for AT&T. And there is also a curfew -9pm
Again Please Pray for the city of Pleasant Grove,al.

Thursday April 28th

Thursday morning I woke up to the police talking over the loud speakers. Lo and behold what doI hear outside..a cat meow! So I jumped up out of bed to do a head count. Went through the whole house counting cats..should be 5. There is 5 to my delight. Then I go in sunroom and still hear the crying of a cat. Then I make my way to the front door and opened it..and who stood there? My little stray Foggie. He made it through the storms. Yay:) So I give him food and we decide to congregate in the neighbor hood.

We found out that a couple of business's were giving away free water,ice,snacks and Gatorade so that was nice..also the city hall was giving away free food and so were a lot of the church's. This was the day I was so emotional. I could not stop crying. I think everything finally caught up with me.

When I was cleaning my drive way I found housing insulation,shingles,pieces of wood that looked like it came from some cabinets maybe..also pieces of cotton stuffing.
It was all very sad. In my neighbors yard I found a receipt from 1961. Its got the lady's name on it. Im going to try and look her up on the internet
Please Pray for the people of Pleasant Grove.

Wed. April 27th First and Second Storm

When I last posted it was wed.27th. A bad thunderstorm was hitting us that day. I got out of bed early because I was so scared. I've never heard the wind blow that loud. I also was afraid a big tree behind our houseWas gonna fall on our house.Power was out almost all day. I just did have enough time to do my posting wed. This was about 2pm or 3pm that I last posted.

4pm T.V. is telling us how much time we have to take cover. Im not sure what time it was when they said you have 30minutes to get ready to take cover. I called my husband who was on his way home. I told him if hes sees the Tornado to stop and get in a ditch. He laughed about that two.

Well by the time it got down to 10minute warning I grabbed my cell phone and about that time it got real quite the wind stopped blowing. Then you heard it coming. Oh my goodness this Tornado was so loud it sounded like a million billion swarms of bees. I was in a tornado when I was 8yrs. old and that tornado did damage only to the houses across the street. But the tornado the other nite was unlike any the I've heard before. I could not get in my closet either cause I new my husband was getting ready to come through the door. We he did he was so scared because he was hearing the tornado too. We ran to our closet and hid but not for long. We could not hear the tornado any more so we came out of the closet.
After getting out..all we could hear was sirens. The Sirens went all nite long. We were also without power so needless to say we went to bed early that nite.

As usual they had to inspect the new package. They all had fun sniffing and walking
on the package that it came in.

They always seem to know when its for them. We had fun watching them...but the House that was a different story...it always seems like you need to be a contractor to put it together.

Of course as you will see Jude the dude is the leader of the pack. I just love my kitties!!

Bad Storms

Boy we have been having really bad storms here lately. Our power has been off all day. I'm having to hurry and do this posting before the next one comes in. The next storm will be here in about an hour and its gonna be worse than the last one.

I can't believe I was able to get these pictures of Marley. He just hates the snappy thing. He even fusses at me when I take his picture.

Take notice of his flat Hiney. Whenever he lays down his bottom is always flat. Really strange. None of our other cats do this. They all put their hind legs under their body but he doesn't do that. His legs are always spread out.

I hope everyone has a nice Easter. We are going to our church and we are going to take my brother and his girlfriend out to eat afterwards.

Bunny..my sweet grand kitty who at times still will get wild hairs and run through my daughters apartment.
Bunny also has been quite the little traveler. She has lived in Birmingham,AL, Savannah,GA and now she lives in New York City. My daughter drove her from B'ham,Al to New York City. We just felt like she was to old to fly so my daughter drove her sweet baby to New York.

Today she is 18 years old.

We love her so much. She's one tough girlie cat.

She is a very sweet dog..but right now she misses her mommy as she is in the hospital. Please send lots of purrs and prayers her way. Her name is Gladys. She has been a very good neighbor to me.

I thought today I would share some pictures of my neighbor's cat Charlie. Charlie is just getting over a very traumatic incident. There was a really mean solid black cat in the neighborhood recently. This cat attacked Charlie and Clarkie that live in the neighborhood. Both cats had to go to the vet for their injuries..which were pretty bad.
I ordered a humane trap off ebay so I could catch this cat. I not only caught the cat but I found him a home out in the country living with my brother. So far so good. He loves his home in the country and has adjusted well to the change.

So enjoy the pictures of Charlie. I think you will agreed with me that he is a beautiful cat.

Here is our scratching post that goes to the ceiling..as you can see we have a really good time with it.

The chair is in the computer room. We love to shred on it when mom and dad are on the computer..that really gets them going. We love being bad kitties..but regardless our mom and dad loves us anyway.

Chicken and Egg Festival

We had a great time at the chicken and egg festival today. Very,very hot though. It got up to 88 degrees today.

We ate some good food..heard some great music. My favorite music was the Bluegrass..it was great. I also bought a great painting of a Rooster. It goes great in my dinning area.

I could tell when I got home Marley really missed mom and dad.

Today we're going to the Chicken and Egg festival in Moulton,Alabama..a city I've never been to. It sounds like alot of fun. They will have arts & crafts,food,live chickens and bands.

I'm hoping to buy a painting of a Rooster for my dinning room.

Pretty Piper

Here are some pics of my sweet Piper. I found Piper on the Internet. I was specifically looking for a Black and White kitty. I found her at an animal shelter about an hour and a half from my house.

Piper is our special kitty as she has two bad front legs. The right leg looks like a back leg and her left leg is turned in and her paw on that leg is somewhat smaller than it should be.

Piper also has special talents too. When I get her Treats she does a Trick for her Treat. She can say Mama for a Treat. Also I can click my fingers and she will sit on her bottom and sit up in an upright position for her Treats. She is one smart girl.

Chuck and I also have to be protective of Piper as her brothers Jude and Marley will attack her for no reason. We have tried and tried to figure out why they do this and we just don't know. Who Knows??
We have wondered if its because she is different. I've often heard that animals know when another animal is different. Either way she gets a lot of TLC from us.

Crazy Marley

Here's Marley playing in the bath tub..and him hanging on the sunroom doors. He is such a Hoot ya'll. He brings so much joy to our household.
He is such a little nut!!

On my next post I will try to get pics of Piper..she is my handicap kitty. She has two bad front legs. I often wonder if she is an inbreed. Either way she is a really sweet kitty..very shy so its hard to get good pics of her.

Back to the Living

Hi everyone...all my kitty friends out there!! Sorry its been such a long time since I've Blogged..it did take a little time to get over my surgeries..plus I just got a little lazy from taking time off. But its good to be back. I can't wait to visit everyone.

Today I'm putting pics of Marley and Bella up. The two of them are so cute. Marley absolutely just idolizes Bella..he walks up to her and falls down on the floor being submissive. This is how he almost always does when he sees her. He loves her so much and she will not so much as even give him the time of day. Its really fun to watch them two together.

On a serious note...My friends that live in Gulf Shores with the 5 dogs that we visited last spring..well their Husky has a bad leg her name is Abianh pronounced "Anna-nye"...The doctors say there is nothing they can do for her..so Im hoping the kitty community will say lots of prayers for this sweet girl.

At the beach 4th of July

The beach was beautiful when we were down there on the 4th of July weekend. Add a great relaxing trip. We both needed that weekend. Missed our kitties though so it was good to get back home to our Babies.

On Sat. the 3rd all the hotels were doing the fireworks so we found out where our hotel was shooting theirs off that nite. We got great seats. We were right under the fireworks...it was so cool!! I've never been that close to them before.

Im also putting up of Marley...he's gotten a little better about me taking pics of him. Of course he is still being his naughty self. That cat is a Hoot!!

Bella thought she would show off her new haircut. She had a wild hair and climbed all the way up the cat tree. My cats just love that tree. She was being a ham today.

Jude in the garden

Here are some pics of Jude in the garden. This area is also my cat cemetary.

Going to Panama City,Fl. today with my girlfriend and her daughter for just a couple of days. They said there is no oil there yet...so we'll see. I'll takes some pics and post them when I get back.

Only small parts of Gulf Shores, Al. beaches are affected. It is some pretty nasty stuff. It makes me want to cry. Our beautiful beaches. Its so sad. They are cleaning the beaches daily. They really need to figure this mess out.

Thanks again everyone for the prayers. This is really stressful.

Kitties get new cat house

Hi everyone, thank you guys so much for the prayers I really need those extra prayers right now because I've got some medical issues going on. Im trying to avoid surgery. It's nice that my kitty friends care like you do.

Now lets get to the new cat house. This house was so hard to put together but Jude and Marley helped their daddy. It was fun watching them.

I hope everyone is having a nice summer...it's really hot and humid here...so if I work outside in my yard I have to do it early in the mornings.

I've got some pretty flowers I'll have to post for you guys.

Sick

Hey everyone, I've been really sick. This is the fourth cold for me in the last 6 months. I think my immune system is not up to par right now. I'm hoping I will not have to go to the doctor.(again) I really can not believe I have another cold.

I will try to get back to blogging next week.

Bad Marley

I had a great 50th Birthday this year...it was nice to get away. My girlfriend Mary is the best...we always have a good time together.

When I arrived home last nite it was great to see all the kitties. I especially missed my Marley the most (hes the baby). It was apparent too that he missed me. My husband said he started acting out and he was relentless with 2 of my kitty's...Jude and Babybella. Even when I got home and settled in he was just going crazy bothering and torturing those 2 cats. I've never seen him like that. I could tell he really missed me. It's nice to know how much they Love you too.

Savanna Sands Cat from Africa

A few weeks ago me and my husband went to the Birmingham Zoo. These 2 pics are of a Savanna Sands Cat a.k.a.Blackfooted Cat from Africa. These cats were the size of domestic cats only they had the wild stripes on them.

Today me and my best friend are going out of town on a girlie trip...so I probably will not Post for a few days.

Surprise Birthday Party

Everybody my daughter did the sweetest thing last Sat.nite. She told me we were going out to eat...when we arrived at the restaurant and I walked in everyone hollered Surprise! Boy I was so shocked...my daughter and husband really pulled a fast one on me. The party was great...we even had a waiter. It was very nice...the people I love the most were all there.

Now to get to the pictures that I put up. I really think these are so cute...Marley and Daddy trying to get a toy out from beside the dishwasher. I think Marley really wanted to help...but Daddy was able to get out a couple of toys...he said there were a lot of toys back there.

How to be Naughty

Hi Mandu, Marley here. I wanted to tell my best buddy a way to really be naughty is when your mom is making up the bed you need to get on the mattress..and no matter what she saids to you...you stand your ground and try your best to prevent her from making up the bed...don't move no matter what...if she throws the sheets over you...you stay there...remember never give in...make it so that she physically has to pick you up and put you on the floor. Even when she puts you on the floor...you jump right back up there. If she's lucky she might have time to put the first sheet on the bed...but as I said you stand your ground and make it as difficult as you can for her to make up that bed.

Remember Mandu..if you succeed in doing this then you are a Good Naughty Kitty...that's what us boys strive for. Your mom might even laugh too. I know my mom does.

I just had to post about Sheppa again. This dog was a little Hell-Yun...but he did turn out to be a very sweet dog. It just took some time for us and him to get used to one another.

Just wanted to Thanks Carmine and J.B. for having us at the house. Everything was really nice and clean. We had a good time. It was nice getting to go to the beach. They have 5 big dogs. Seeing as we're cat people to dogs did take so getting used to...they had to get used to us too. Once they got used to us they were just a bunch of big babies...they really enjoyed the loving and petting..There was this one dog named Bianca and she was so sweet...she wanted to give kisses all the time. BooBoo was the biggest dog and also very sweet.(Barked really loud though).
Anna the Husky was a little anti social...she had the prettest blue eyes...we managed to get to pet her to.
Sebastian was kinda quiet and had good manners...he was an abused puppy when Carmine got him...someone just threw him out the window as they were driving by.

Now last but not least...Sheppa...he was not sure if he liked me and my husband. It took a little work to win him over...he finally came around though.

Our friends live just 5 mins. from the beach which was nice...they had a lovely house.
